Afriqiya Airways

tariff

Afriqiyah Airways are one of two government owned national carriers of Libya but have never carried cargo on their flights from London Gatwick. This airline had no profile for cargo solutions in the UK. Select worked closely with the client to establish Afriqiyah in the UK market, with the goal of generating a profitable cargo product and whole new revenue stream.

Select Solution

Select worked with the client to establish reception at Heathrow and a trucking service to Gatwick in order to satisfy a market requirement for Heathrow delivery. The solutions were deployed.

  • Provision of UK wide reception and delivery facility at regional airports to broaden their catchment area.
  • Established cargo handling and reception at Gatwick Airport.
  • Developed an advertising campaign in ‘Al Arab’ Arabic newspaper which is widely circulated in the United Kingdom and North Africa.
  • Targeted specific customers within the UK for the Libyan market plus other Northern African destinations served by Afriqiyah.
  • Instigated an integrated multi-media sales & marketing campaign within the UK to promote the direct services to Libya and beyond.
  • Provision of ‘Charges Collect’ facility to enable consignee’s to pay locally in Libya prior to departure of their goods.
